Free walking tours in Financial District New York

One of the most interesting and informative walking tours I’ve ever been on! I’m a native New Yorker but I love being a tourist in my own city, thanks to engaging, enthusiastic, and super smart tour guides like Gio. I swear after 41 years in New York City, I didn’t know half these places existed, or virtually any of the stories he told! Really really cool. I’m going to bring my dad back on this tour, he will love it too!

Great tour of the financial district

If you are looking for a tour of Lower Manhattan that goes beyond the surface, look no further. Our guide, Jon, was absolutely wonderful. He possesses a deep, trained voice that makes listening to the wealth of information he shares a total pleasure. The tour is perfectly paced, with thoughtful breaks for photographs and a stop for coffee in a truly magnificent Art Deco cafe. What sets this tour apart, however, is Jon’s 10+ years of research into 9/11. He doesn't just recite dry facts; he speaks with genuine empathy about the personal stories of survivors and victims, and the ongoing health effects the tragedy has had on the community. It is a powerful, educational, and deeply human experience. I cannot recommend Jon highly enough!

Good tour, our tour guide Gabriel shared so much history and brought us to some hidden spots, however I feel the tour can be shorter, probably 2 hours will be the sweet spot.

Despite the miserable weather, Jon gave an outstanding tour of the financial district and 9/11 memorial. He is extremely knowledgeable and personable. I highly recommend this tour.

The only fault I could give for today's tour was the weather! Despite that, Jon was incredibly informative and a great tour guide. If it weren't for the fact we're leaving NYC tomorrow, we'd be going on all of his tours.

Honestly a great tour! The guide was very engaged told us a lot of interesting stores and took us to many places we wouldn't have found by ourselves! I strongly recommend!

Excellent tour with Gio. Today was a frigid day and he paced the tour extremely well bringing us inside to warm up a little bit and then we kept walking. Great wealth of information.

Gio was a great tour guide! He entered with us in amazing historical buildings that we’d never have known of if it wasn’t for him! He had lots of knowledge and entertainment us the whole tour! Not even the cold weather became a problem during the tour as we had strategic stops inside warm places.

Gabriel made a very cold day become very exciting and informative. He takes care of people while bringing a wealth of knowledge about the history of the wider New York and the individual buildings to each step we take on the tour. I felt very lucky to have learnt so much ins such a short time. Thank you Gabriel.

Our tour in the bitter cold was quite informative with the guide bringing us in out of the elements to warm up about every 25 minutes. He was friendly, gave historical info, trivia and made personal connections with the group. Highly recommend Gio!

If I could give him 10 stars, I would. The entire tour was fascinating, even in the rain. When possible, David changed the tour so we were inside instead of outside in the cold rain. He brought maps to illustrate the history of the area. He also brought handouts with suggestions of other places I might want to visit. His knowledge of the history of the area was amazing. I would highly recommend David as a guru for any tour. If I had stayed longer, I would have happily taken other tours with him.
